Inspiration : Carnaby Street Girls, 1968
Some looks are just beyond amazing. There was a time when Carnaby Street was full of fashionable people and inspirational looks, back in the days when Fashion was Real and Style was Timeless.
By the 60′s, Carnaby Street was a place followed by both the Mod and the Hippie styles. Many independent fashion boutiques and designers such as Mary Quant and Merc were located there, and soon it became one of the coolest destinations associated with the Swinging London of the 1960s.
There are a few songs that were inspired by this street, which my favorite one is the song “Dedicated Follower of Fashion” by “The Kinks” — And also, a season 15 episode of “The Simpsons” shows Bart and Lisa emerging from Carnaby Street in mod fashion garb.
And now I found these two photos just amazing. Those girls looking wow, wearing Cropped Tops and Bell Bottom Pants in bright colors, a very simple outfit, yet perfect. Those were the good old days..
