Backstage at Marc Jacobs Spring 2014 RTW
Today we’re gonna take a look at the backstage of Marc Jacobs Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear. This time the beauty look at Marc Jacobs was : “Beautiful, Edgy, but not Pretty.” — Said François Nars.
Nars keyed the makeup, which he did using his own line. After prepping faces with Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30, he went for the Eyes — First he piled on Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara and Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara. Next he took an Eyeliner Pencil and slashed it across the inner rim of the eye, both on top and bottom, extending it into the inside corner of the eye. Then he passed on the lips and brows, leaving both completely alone.
For the hairstyle, Guido Palau working with Redken at the show, opted for wigs for uniformity. The wigs were anything but boring. They were bleached, then painted to appear as if the hair had growing-out dark roots. But at the end, he cut them into bowl-shaped cuts.
And finally for the nails, Marian Newman created a textured manicure for the show, using Jacobs’ Bark! nail polish, which is slated to launch in the summer 2014. The polish had embedded with Swarovski crystals on the top, which were then covered by another layer of polish.
So now I’m gonna change what François Nars said — In my opinion, the beauty look was “ Beautiful, Edgy, and Pretty. ”
